The Painters Desk (paintersdesk.com) is run by AK Tabletop Studio. This page explains what we store when you use the site, why, and how to remove it.
You can use the colour wheel without an account. It runs in your browser and we don't collect anything about it. The site saves a copy of itself on your device so it works offline. There are no adverts, analytics or tracking cookies.
You can create an account with your email and a password, or sign in with Google, Discord or GitHub. With email and password we store your email, the display name you choose, and a scrambled (salted PBKDF2) form of your password that can't be turned back into the password.
When you sign in with Google, Discord or GitHub, your first sign-in creates your account. From that service we receive and store:
We never see or store your password for those services. You can change your display name and picture later.
We only email you about your account: a link to confirm your email address when you sign up, and a password reset link when you ask for one. We don't send newsletters or marketing. These emails are delivered by Resend (resend.com), which receives your email address and the message to send it.
The Feedback button sends us your message, the type you pick, the page you were on, the email address you choose to give (if any) and, if you're signed in, your account. We keep it to read and reply to, and email it to ourselves. We also keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, only to stop one sender flooding the form. Feedback is never shown on the site.
Signing in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. A short-lived cookie is also used during sign-in to protect it from forgery. Neither is used for tracking or advertising.
Everything is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts the site, in their database and file storage. We don't sell or share your information with anyone else, and we use it only to run the site. The site's moderators can remove public recipes and comments that break the rules.
You can edit or delete your recipes, photos and comments at any time. To delete everything, open your account page and choose Delete my account. This permanently removes your account, profile, password, sign-in links, collection, recipes, photos and comments.
Accounts are for people aged 13 and over.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
